one dress, two dress

i feel like i've been dreaming about dresses lately, because i've been shopping for dresses not stop. i have a couple upcoming events i have to attend and my birthday in a april! i've had a little luck with finding dresses; i found one very girly one (by kate spade), and the perfect LBD (by DVF), but i'm still on the hunt, which has me thinking about dresses even when i'm sleeping.

i tend to like a neutral palette with a pop of color or print.  i love all white everything, with a couple different prints mixed together in the same color palette. ESPECIALLY when its blue. i love blue, all shades, and all sizes. ha! navy blue is my go-to blue, but i also love a good gray blue or a green blue.

quinoa & kale

i've been trying to be as gluten-free as possible, which has been a challenge for me because there are some thing that i can't help but crave.  for example things like paella, empanadas, and pan de huevo are things i will not and cannot give up.  however, i'm willing to limit myself to just eating these things for special occasions.  my favorite easy dinner recipe has been quinoa, kale, and sweet potato salad. it's been my go-to meal during the week. also, gluten free bread with a little bit of raspberry jam has been a treat in the morning.  gluten-free can be challenging, but i find when i plan ahead, like packing my lunch, and checking a restaurant's menu before i go to dinner makes it easer to stay on track.

i've decided to spoil myself as a work bonus and buy myself a new pair of pumps. i've always wanted a pair of pradas. whats you're dream pair of pumps?

this is the prettiest octopus i've ever seen. i know it's random, but i had to share. i've always been fascinated by octopuses (weird or fun fact; you decide).  octopuses are not only intelligent, flexible, but they have eight arms so i'm assuming they are multi taskers as well. lol.

the past week has been filled with light fixture, plumbing fixtures, and i think my brain is still stuck on work mode, because this weekend i continued looking for more light fixtures. i saw this light fixture and i thought it was such a "wow" piece.  every room needs a wow piece, that special piece that defines the entire room.  whether is a large light fixture like this or something as small as a vase that sets the color story of the entire room. i love finding statement pieces both in fashion and interior design that make an outfit or in this case a room. the more that i work in the interior design industry i realize how similar it is to the fashion world.  so, back to this lovely light fixture, the light fixture is made up of layers of brass and steel.  the layers are surrounded by a bold inner core of lamps with glass. 

givenchy for me

after a much needed trail run this weekend, i decided to reward myself by going to one of my favorite vintage stores.  i always go there looking for something specific, and never find exactly what i'm looking for, but i always end up leaving with something that i absolutely love. this time, i went for silverware and tea cups and left with a givenchy bracelet (circa 1960) that i'm obsessed with. it's black and gold, and i soon as i laid eyes on it i knew i had to have it.
