i love everything tortoise shell, as long as no tortoises were harmed. i just ordered the new j.crew golden link tortoise bracelet here. i can't wait to layer it with some of my other gold bracelets and bangles.

new york is always a good idea

i'm thinking of going to new york in october for a work slash mini getaway.  i've been wanting to go to the design center in new york and visit some of the workrooms and showrooms for inspiration and pulling samples for the sample library at work.  i been on a couple mini vacations this summer, but i would love to get on a plane and go somewhere, and i'm thinking that somewhere is new york.

the current lulu frost jewelry for j.crew is so pretty! these are my favorite two pieces in the collection.  i love the navy and gold combination and the vintage feel they have. 

hand-me-down handbag

this reminds me of what the ultimate grandma hand-me-down handbag  would look like. i wish my grandma had a bag like this to gift to me. i love my grandma, but unfortunately she doesn't have a handbag like this, instead i get some pretty amazing sweaters and jewelry pieces, but i think i would trade them all for a killer bag like this. haha. 

happy friday! looking forward to an event filled weekend of dinner at a new restaurant, a very important birthday party (happy birthday charles), and possibly a trip to the beach.

i would love to use 3 x 6 or 2 x 8 calacatta tiles on a project.  the free standing stainless steel tub and the wall mounted faucet are so timeless and classic. the faucet is like wearing really, really pretty jewelry.  jewelry for your bath tub!  

churchill dining table

i bought this A-M-A-Z-I-N-G vintage dining table last week from coup d'etat. i first saw it in the SF decorator showcase in the living room by interior designer catherine kwong. i love the dramatic legs and the hand painted white detail, which gives the traditional table a modern touch. it's definitely not a piece that's for everyone, but for me it's a piece i will have forever and ever and EVER.  i can use it as a dining table or use it as a desk like catherine did in the showcase living room.

simply stunning

this small sitting vignette is neutral, timeless, and simply stunning.  i love the the vintage sofa in white linen with the black a white art piece. this is similar to the sofa i have in my apartment, although mine larger and a bit more modern. i would love to add some major black and white art pieces to the wall behind my sofa. i would recommend waiting to find timeless pieces that you will have forever and ever.  i've started  collecting special pieces instead of just buying furniture pieces to fill spaces in my apartment.  waiting for the perfect piece is key!

these are three of my favorite j.crew jewels at the moment! pieces that can easily be paired with anything in your closet. i just bought the crystal color stone earrings and i absolutely love everything about them! i love that they are tortoise shell, pop of color, and the crystal detail at the bottom. both the crystal shimmer and crystal leaves earrings are an instant pop of sparkle!
