not only do i love this lanvin print as a dress, but i would love it as wallpaper as well. i love everything about this print, and how dramatic and bold it is. oh lanvin, i love you.

i was at heath tile the other day and fell in love with the cafe bowl. its perfect for a bowl of oatmeal or cereal in the morning. everything at health is so amazing, and i love when i get to use their tile in a client's bathroom or kitchen. plus, it's right here in sausalito!

word pendant

i'm working on the SF decorator showcase this week, and we've been going back and forth about our final decision on the powder room pendant because our original space has doubled in size since we were first selected for the showcase. we were able to increase our powder room by tearing down the wall that separated the powder room and walk-in closet and use the additional walk-in closet space for our powder room. we also inherited the hallway outside of the powder room. so we've been on the hunt for two pendants that are different but still work together and work with our original concept. the word pendant by holly hunt is one of my favorite pendants because each pendant has a different poem etched on the hand blow glass and the words reflect on the walls of the room, which is why it's made for a small space like a powder room. i'm hoping we can use this in either the hallway or powder room, but my vote would be in the hallway with black walls!

so simple, so perfect

the room by martha angus is so simple, but so perfect. i love the vignette by the window looking outside at the  trees.  i think she captured a peaceful place in the room to read a book or enjoy a cup of tea. the shape and scale of the chairs are so gorgeous, i absolutely love everything about them.  and the art on the wall really grounds the space. i love a simple design because it allows you to appreciate everything in the room, without being distracted by too much going on in one small space. i'm so excited that martha angus will be doing SF decorator showcase this year.

workspace

i'm planning on doing more decorating this weekend. i just got new window shades installed, which i absolutely love.  i decided to go with wood shades, that look more like shutters than shades, so i'm very happy with my choice. this weekend i'm hoping to tackle my workspace. which means i need to find a new desk, which i'm hoping will be an antique or vintage find. i want my workspace to be inspiring and motivating, but i don't have a lot of space to work with, so i'm hoping to put a bookshelf near my desk.  

love

i bought these pretties for myself as my valentines day gift. i love the pop of orange (aka brilliant flame) with the crystal and purple. i also bought myself raspberry heart cookies and a vogue magazine. i think these are the only three things i need to survice. jewelry, sugar cookies, and a vogue magazine. one of my friends always says, "if you don't spoil yourself, then who will?"

success and sophistication

i had one of the most inspiring and motivating weeks of my entire life last week.  first, i met martha angus at an event at coup d'etat in the city and then later i the week i met barbara barry at an event at the design center. i was so inspired with what both women had to say, and i aspire to be as successful and sophisticated as the both of them. they were both so down to earth and humble, and it made me like them so much more. i think being humble is such rare quality among those that are successful, especially at the level that both martha angus and barbara barry have reached. i decided i couldn't squeeze everything i wanted to say into one post, so i've dedicated more than one posts to my eventful week. more to follow!

today barbara barry is speaking at the design center, and i couldn't be more excited. there are so many things i love about barbara barry's design philosophy, but i think her "less is more" approach is what i resinate with most.  i think it's easy to fill a room with pretty things, but learning to edit yourself and pick things that not only work together, but work in the space are the real challenges.  i've been looking forward to this event all week, and i'm hoping barbara will autograph her book for me!

i want everything in this look! i've been wanting a leather jacket, and this makes me want a white dress too. i love mixing feminine looks with a little bit of edge.

hermes inspired interiors

in 1950 french modernist jacques adnet formed a partnership with french fashion house hermes where he developed a collection of leather-covered furniture and interior accessories. accordingly, he made a round leather mirror with brass hinges. i love the simplicity, detail, and elegance of this piece.
