the SF decorator showcase opened to the public this weekend, and we're so excited to have a room this year.  one of my favorite rooms, besides our powder room, is the living room by catherine kwong.  her floor is painted similar to this lamp shade, expect in black with white paint. i love this detail, and i love it even more on the hardwood floors of the living room.

i'm planning on trying this new recipe for frozen smores this weekend! smores by the fire are one of my favorite desserts, but frozen smores on a hot summer day is definitely something worth trying. YUM!

the weather in the last couple of weeks has felt a lot like summer, which has me looking forward to summer days at the beach.  my new apartment is less than 20 minutes from the beach which makes me so happy!

this year i felt like the luckiest girl to receive peonies on my birthday. not a couple peonies, but more than a dozen white and pink peonies.  my favorite flower! i love them because they look like layers of silk, chiffon and lace.

i love a good maxi skirt and they are a must-have for this spring and summer. i have a pleated silk one in black, but i would love to add a casual black cotton one to my closet for a summer i plan to spend at the beach.

happy birthday to me!

i take birthdays very seriously, especially when it's my own.  every year for my birthday i like to spoil myself with something that i don't need, but that i really, really want. this year, i've been so busy with work that i haven't had time to shop, but i plan on buying something i've always been wanting.

lately my world has been filled with stripes because of all the time i've bee spending on the SF decorator showcase.  our powder room is almost finished, and our final install is this week! i can't wait to see the final product!

i've been looking for a red dress for what feels like an eternity, but i can seem to find one that has all the details that i'm looking for. i want it fitted, but not too fitted, something classic but with a little edge to it. this christian dior dress is EVERYTHING.

our powder room for the SF decorator showcase is all starting to come together.  the black and white painted stripes are almost done, which we decided to paint horizontally and each stripe is a foot wide, and very bold and graphic! the crosby street hotel was one of the inspirations for our room, because of the black and white graphics and elegant details.

not so simple

simple sweater, simple denim, simple bag, simple pumps, but this outfit is anything but simple. i will be copying this look, maybe not leopard pumps, but something with a pop of color or texture should do the trick.  i love the idea of a basic color palette like grays and blue with a pop of pattern like leopard, or a pop of red would be fun or a textured pump like suede. what would your version of this outfit look like?
