vintage tray

anyone who knows me knows that i'm a complete neat freak. although, the last couple weeks have been so busy and hectic, so my bedroom is a complete disaster. mostly it's my chotchkies and things that i need to organize. i want to get a vintage tray to organize my perfumes, candles, lotions, and things and put it on my dresser. i think it's the perfect way to keep things neat and pretty.

after a long weekend of lux hipster festivities, i could not have been anymore excited to go to the oh land concert at the independent. i've been looking forward to the show ever since my friend invited me to go a couple weeks ago. after watching the show last night i'm an ever bigger fan! from her sultry voice, awesome dance moves, and her lux hipster style, the show was unreal. this will forever be one of my favorite concerts because of how creative and whimsical her performance was. she is definitely the epitome of a lux hipster and i want/need her style and dance moves. last night she was wearing a long white tassel dress and an antler crown, and if i would have thought of it first i would have worn it on my birthday. haha! i could not have asked for a better birthday present. oh land is definitely one of my favorite bands now.

birthday festivities

i had the most amazing birthday weekend. it was everything i hoped it to be and more! from dinner (including roasted beets and watermelon salad and truffle fries), to cupcakes with daisies on top, to drinks on the balcony, and dancing at the end of the night, the night could not have been more perfect. plus, i loved seeing everyone in lux hipster attire, wearing everything from lace shorts, jean jackets, vests, bow ties, printed pants, gingham shirts, to tassel moccasins. i only wish we would have taken more pictures! and the best part is that my birthday festivities aren't over yet, i still have a concert to go to tonight and my actual birthday on tuesday!

i've been trying to put together my lux hipster outfit for this weekend's festivities, and so far it looks like i'm either wearing a long silk pleated skirt or lace shorts. i could not be happier that hector and i decided to have everyone dress as a lux hipster, i can't wait to see what everyone puts together! happy birthday to me!

it's been another hectic week at work for me, but luckily i have a very special weekend ahead of me to look forward to (my birthday weekend)! but in the mean time i have to try and focus on the overwhelming amount of things i have going on at work. this week i'm working on a room that we've decided to furnish with ralph lauren fabrics. the color story is three different shades of blue. RL does some timeless and classic blue prints that are made to mix and match with stripes and solids. i find RL fabrics so easy to work with because they make can make a room feel casual and elegant all at the same time.

i can't decide if i like these because they're simple and gold or because they're marc jacobs. either way, i think it's important to have a pair of go-to earrings that can be paired with any necklace, bracelet, and ring. i like these because they have a simple shape and conservative size, perfect to throw on with any outfit and any occasion.
